Tri-County Arts Council Events for May

The Tri-County Arts Council will hold the following classes in the Month of May at their 110 West State Street Studios…

Saturday, May 18:  Discover the art of Basketweaving using a square wooden base with attached spokes.  Learn the basics of weaving using a variety of reeds and colors.  The Class is suitable for Beginners and Experienced Weavers.  The class takes place from 1-3 pm.

Wednesday, May 22:  A live drawing session with our costumed model.  Start with some gesture drawing and move to a longer pose.  This is not a class with a teacher, but an opportunity to practice your drawing.  The class takes place from 6-8pm.

Saturday, May 25:  Take part in a Gel-Printing Class, a form of printmaking called mono printing.  The Class takes place from 1-3pm.

Tuesday, May 28:  A one-stoke painting class with Bonnie Bennett…learn blending and layering techiques, and other brush strokes.  The Class takes place from 6-8pm.

Cattaraugus County Social Service Department Walk-in Hours Change

The Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services is changing the hours for their walk-in services.  Beginning Monday, May 13th, all offices operated by the Social Services Department will be open to the public for walk-in service Monday-Friday, from 8:30am-3:30pm, excluding holidays.  Telephone service will remain available until 4:00pm.  Applications for most of the programs administered through the Department of Social Services are accepted online at:  www.mybenefits.ny.gov.

Eldred Conservation Club Muzzle Loader Shoots

Olean General Hospital Diabetes Self-Management Workshops

9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Olean General Hospital will offer a series of Diabetes Self-Management Educational Seminars in 2024.  The 3-hour sessions will take place on Wednesdays OR Saturdays in odd-numbered months, and are designed as a comprehensive program, addressing the aspects of diabetes self-management.  Most Health Insurance plans will cover all or most of the cost of the program.  For more information, a schedule, and to register, call Erika Zerkowski, at (716)375-6271.
