The Workforce Development and Career Center presents “Perk Up With Coffee, Careers and Community Growth” on Tuesday, November 4, from 8:30-10:00am..  This event is a coffee hour that is open to everyone, with an emphasis on helping with resumes, job search, and availble grants.  The event takes place at the Workforce Develoopment and Career Center Offices in Bluebird Square, Olean.

The Olean Rotary Club will hold its annual Veterans Pasta Dinner on Tuesday, November 4, from 4:30-6:30pm, at the Allegany American Legion.  Prices are $14 for adults, $10 for Children and Seniors, and $40 for Families…Veterans eat for FREE.

The Olean Family YMCA and Jamestown Community College will hold a Career Horizons Fair at the YMCA on Wednesday, November 5, from 10am-2pm.   The event is geared towards high school students in grades 9-12, so they can preceive their future and get inspired!  Vendors are needed for the fair…if interested, contact Dann or Eric, at (716) 373-2400.

The Cuba VFW Post 2721 Auxiliary will hold a meat party on Friday, November 7, at the VFW Events Center.  Free hot dogs, chili and snacks…Beer bands available for $5.  Along with the meat raffles, there will also be basket raffles.  The raffles start at 7:00.

The Otto Township Fire Department will hold a Craft and Vendor Show on Saturday, November 8, from 9-4, at their Fire Hall on Sweitzer Drive in Duke Center.  Proceeds from the show will be put towards the Fire Truck Purchase Fund.  More about the Craft and Vendor show can be found on their website:  https://ottotwpvfd.com

The Limestone Volunteer Fire Department will hold its Fall Ham and Turkey Party on Saturday, November 8…the doors will open at 6:00, with the Raffles beginning at 7:00.  The event will also include a Chinese Auction…Free admission, and free refreshments.

The Portville American Legion will hold a Veterans Day Roast Beef Dinner on Saturday, October 8, starting at 5:00.  The dinner is open to all area Veterans, Legion members, Auxiliary and S-A-L menbers, and their guests.  Please RSVP for the dinner by Wednesday, November 5 at the Post, or call (716)933-8082 after 3pm.  In addition to the dinner, Interstate Daydreamers will perform from 8-11pm.

The Coudersport American Legion Auxiliary will hold their Senior Thanksgiving Dinner on Sunday, November 9, from noon-3pm, at the Legion.  On the menu is Turkey and the fixings.  Seniors ages 55 and over eat for free…Adults $15, and kids ages 6-10 eat for $5.  If you want a second helping to take home, they are $10.  Donations towards the food are gratefully accepted.  Those attending the dinner are asked to make a donation of a non-perishable food item to be donated to local food pantries.

The Hinsdale American Legion will host a Veterans Day Dinner on Tuesday, November 11, starting at 4:30, until sold out.  The dinner features Turkey and the trimmings.  Dinners are $10 each, with Veterans eating for FREE.

The Humphrey Volunteer Fire Company will be serving up Fish Frys on Fridays, October 17,24 and 31, and November 7 and 14.  Dinners will be served from 5-7pm, with the option to eat at the fire hall, or take it home.  The choices are battered or broiled fish, or chicken tenders, with potato, cole slaw or cottage cheese, roll, dessert and coffee.  Water or soda are available for purchase.  The Dinners are $17 each…the number to dall for take-outs is (716)945-5123.  The Fire Company will also hold a Trunk or Treat event Halloween Night…for more information or to participate, call (716)609-8393.  Basket Raffles and 50/50 drawing will be held during dinner hours.

McKean Residents Auxiliary is doing a Fall Bazaar at Sena Kean-Manor, 17083 Rt 6 Smethport, on November 15, 2025. The time is 9am-2pm. They are currently looking for vendors. The price is $10 per table, and checks can be made payable to McKean Residents Auxiliary PO Box 85 Mt. Jewett PA, 16740. The annual FREE Thanksgiving Dinner for all Olean residents is set to take place Saturday, November 15, from noon-2pm, at the Olean High School Cafeteria.  Please enter the high school on the 4th Street side on the 15th.

The 27th annual Kiwanis Club Extravaganza is set to take place Saturday, November 15, from 6-9pm, at Salamanca’s Holy Cross Club.  Admission is $20, which gets you a buffet dinner and entrance into the grand raffle for a chance to win $1,000.  A Cash Bar will be available, with Basket Raffles, and card, penny and silent auctions.  All proceeds benefit the youth of Cattaraugus County.  Tickets can be purchased at the door, or via DM on the Kiwanis Club Facebook page.  You can also purchase tickets by email at:  bucholmj01@gmail.com.

The Olean Youth and Recreation Department will hold “Learn To Skate” lessons at the William O. Smith Rec Center in November. The three-session lessons will take places on Saturday afternoons, November 1st, 8th and 15th, from noon-1:00. The cost is $30, and the price includes skate rentals. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Ellicottville presents their 11th annual “Christkindl Market” on Saturday, November 15, from 9am-4pm at their Route 242 location.  Crafters and Artisans will be on two levels…along with the crafters, there’s a basket raffle, and the Nutcracker Cafe will be open for refreshments.  Come and get a head start on your Christmas Shopping!

Coudersport-based Pennsylvania State Police and the Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a Child Passenger Safety Seat Checkpoint on Thursday, November 20, at the Fire Department.  The checkpoint will be available from 2-7pm, and is FREE to the public.  Please bring your child safety seat, the vehicle manual and the child safety seat instructions.  The check should take about 30 minutes to complete.  If you need more information, including directions to the fire hall, call the Coudersport SP Barracks, at (814)274-8690.

Leadership Allegany’s Team Committment will host a fundraising concert on Saturday, November 22, from 4-10pm, at the Palmer Opera House in Cuba.  Several local bands, including The Chumps, Chillbillys and Bottoms Up are scheduled to perform.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the DSS Foster Care and First Stepfamily Resource Center.

The Allegany County Office for the Aging is seeking volunteers to man their Tax Counseling for the Elderly Program.  The program offers free income tax assistance for low to moderate-income Allegany County residents.  Volunteer Tax Counselors are trained and certified to help people who are ages 55 and over.  The Office for the Aging partners with AARP and the IRS to provide this service.  If you are interested in joining the team of volunteers, call (585) 268-9390, and ask for Karen.

The Hinsdale American Legion will be serving Fish Frys every Friday from 5-8pm, beginning Friday, March 14.  Dinners cost $14, and include French Fries, Coleslaw and a Roll.

The City of Olean Youth Bureau and Recreation Department will begin its 2025/’26 Fall-Winter After School Recreation Program on Wednesday, September 3.  The After School Program runs Monday-Friday, from 3-5:30pm, at 921 North Union Street, the former St. John School.  The program operates throughout the school year, with healthy snacks provided.  Among the activities are Foosball, Ping-Pong, Air Hockey, Board Games, Basketball, Arts & Crafts, and help with homework.  All of this is provided free of charge.  For more information, call (716)376-5698.
